Santigold at The Pageant, 6.12.2012
Santigold, also known as Santi White, formerly known as Santogold, puts on one hell of a live show. Caught somewhere between the worlds of pop, hip-hop, and old-school funk, her music is wonderfully fun and her performance matches (with levels of technicolor weirdness that I haven’t seen in quite some time).
Santigold’s newest record, Master of my Make Believe, is available on iTunes. It’s a good one.
Santigold was an awesome shoot — both technically and emotionally. Her lighting was consistently good, sometimes great, and there was plenty of excitement and choreography onstage to capture. No complaints.
Since The Pageant’s stage is fairly big and deep, I stuck to my ƒ/2.8 70-200 for most of the set, occasionally swapping for a 35mm or 50mm when necessary.
