Futurebirds at The Firebird, 4.5.2013
When I talked to Daniel Womack last week before their Firebird show, he described the bands’ image thusly:
I’m not exactly sure how we would ‘describe’ our image though. Maybe a flock of bald eagles spread across an American sunset in a massive “V”, and blazing on the horizon are carnival lights and you can smell the funnel cakes and corn-dogs and first kisses on the ferris wheel. That’d be our scratch n’ sniff version.
Live, the band is a whirlwind of guitars, hairwhips, dissonance and harmony. It’s ‘Murika, but not in a #tcot way — it’s that funnel cake smell, that sunset. And it’s damn good.
